One of the oldest cities in Canada and the provincial capital of Quebec, Quebec City just celebrated its 400th birthday not long ago. Its Old Town has been designated a UNESCO World heritage Site.
Quebec City situates along the north bank of Saint Lawrence River. The valley is rich and fertile and is one of the most agriculturally productive regions in Canada.

The area has a humid continental climate. Its spring and fall are relatively short. The summer is warm, humid and sunny. The winter is long, cold and snowy, when residents take advantage of the sumptuous snow and established the famous Quebec Winter Carnival over January each year, the largest winter celebration world-wide.

Quebec City is divided into an upper town which holds most business activities, and a lower town for tourism and recreation. The skyline of the city is dominated by the Cheteau Frontenac, a 19th century historic fortress now turned into a classy hotel. Other historic architecture includes the provincial parliament, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the Museum of Civilization.

While the majority of the resident is native Francophone, most speak English well to be able to keep good working communication with other parts of Canada. Today, Quebec City economy revolves around its status as the provincial capital: administration, defense, commerce and tourism.

The largest employers of the city are the provincial government and the University Central Hospital of Quebec. The unemployment rate in Quebec City is usually below the national average.

The distinct European ambience and a French lifestyle of Quebec City continue to attract people from all over the world to settle here. With population increasing, the property market of Quebec City is steadily on the rise. Fortunately, the cost of living is kept low while the standard of living is high.
