In the heart of the city is the famous Inner Harbour with most activities year round. Facing the Inner Harbour is the grand historic Legislature building which houses the office of the provincial government. In the vicinity are Royal British Columbia Museum, Thunderbird Park, the historic Empress Hotel, and many other establishments of grand British architecture or First Nation decorations.
The layout of the city of Victoria is neat and efficient. There is an integrated network of walking and biking routes. City transit system is flexible and dependable. Residential areas, shops, parks and restaurants are mostly within close proximity to each other.
Victoria's property market has been hot over the last ten years, due to the fact that existing land is nearly fully developed. In addition to the housing crunch, increasing business activities and strong investments have also contributed to the high standard of living in Victoria.
