Condos in Regina, Saskatchewan
Regina is the capital city of Saskatchewan, and the second biggest city in the province. One of the most unique features of the city is its utter lack of topographical features. Early planners dammed the only creek running through the town, creating Wascana Lake, which is now the focal point of the city, surrounded by the Provincial Legislative Building, both campuses of the University of Regina, the provincial museum of natural history, the Regina Conservatory, the Saskatchewan Science Centre, the Norman MacKenzie Art Gallery, and the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts. Regina has warm summers, and cold, dry winters, with an average daily temperature for the year of around 3 C, an average winter temperature of -15 C, and an average summer temperature of 20 C.
The economy of the city is largely driven by oil and natural gas, and other natural resources, as well as wheat. Music, theatre, and dance are very important to the culture of the city. Canada's oldest continuously performing orchestra, the Regina Symphony Orchestra is at home in the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts. There is also a professional theatre, and several art galleries throughout the city to enjoy throughout the year. The city also boasts numerous areas for parks and green spaces, with almost all of its trees having been hand planted because of the natural flat land the city was founded on. Several colleges and universities are also in the city, including the University of Regina and the RCMP Academy "Depot" Division.
