An HOA is a homeowners' association that is legally responsible for the community in which it resides. Most are non-profit corporations, and as such are subject to the same statues that govern other non-profit corporations. Each owner of a Cap-au-renard condo unit within the community is a member of the association, and will cease to be a member upon sale of their unit. Association boards appoint non-paid volunteer corporate officers to assist in day-to-day business. The boards have the authority to enforce their actions by levying fines, or private legal action. The HOA provides shared neighborhood values, and management of recreational amenities, and landscaping. Meetings are generally held monthly and open to all residents and members.
