Covered in flat plains, colourful meadows, and golden countryside, Saskatchewan is a province filled with unique wild life and terrain. Native animals, such as one of the most popular game bird, the sharp-tailed grouse, and the adorable white-tailed deer flourish amongst the many other types of wild life. A wonderful geography grants sights such as the province's official white-birch tree, and its official flower the western red lily. Its land is the largest producer of sylvite (also known as potash), in the world. This mineral's rich properties are used to fertilize Saskatchewan's lavish farmland.
Saskatchewan is also home to the only RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) training school in all of Canadian. As well, the province holds claim to having the most road ways out of any other province. The southeast is known as Canada's sunshine capital, averaging 2,540 sunshine-filled hours each year! It also features North America's oldest bird sanctuary-first established in 1887 at Last Mountain Lake. An exciting history also tells the tale of the only entirely man-made boundaries in all of Canada.
