The beautiful province of Quebec has the largest area in the country. Bordering the province are many important waterways, including the St. Lawrence River, and Hudson Bay. Quebec is only province with a predominantly French-speaking population, and whose official language is French, so keep this in mind when moving to the province for the first time, as many places in the province do not speak English, making them difficult to live in if you can only speak one language.
As one of the first provinces in the country, Quebec is steeped in history, which can be seen throughout the province in its architecture, and traditions. Tourists often visit the province for the European flair that can be found in the capital city of Quebec City, as well as to attend the world famous Quebec City Winter Carnival. Quebec is also home to almost 20 Universities, including some of the oldest, and most famous institutions in the country. Montreal is home to many major companies including Bombardier, and Electronic Arts, which provide ample jobs in a variety of industries. Quebec also relies on their extremely fertile soil for multiple crops including fruits and vegetables, maple syrup, and livestock, as well as their vast forested areas that are ripe with forestry and hydro-electricity industries that create a lot of money for the province.
Apartments in the province tend to be on the larger side, with multiple rooms, so having a roommate is often the best course of action. However, if you search around, you can occasionally find a smaller unit more suitable for a single person that comes with a cheaper monthly rent.
