The Maritime Province of New Brunswick is the only constitutionally bilingual province in the country. Because of its small size, people tend to live in one of the three major cities of Saint John, Fredericton, Moncton, with the main industries of the province almost evenly distributed among the three locations. Forestry, mining, and fishing are some of the most important industries of the province, with farming being an important aspect of the country areas.
The temperature in the province ranges from cold winters, to warm, sometimes humid summers, with an average winter temperature anywhere from -8°C to -35°C, depending on the part of the province in which you are, and an average summer temperature of 24°C because of its unique coastal location that is shielded from the ocean. New Brunswick also sees the most snow of all the Maritime Provinces. The province is home to many universities, including Mount Allison University in Sackville, which has produced more Rhodes Scholars than any other liberal arts university in the British Commonwealth, making for an extremely exclusive institution.
Depending on where in the province you want to live, often times the best deals can be found in renting houses. However, if you want to be in the bigger cities, apartments are a bit more expensive, but are easily affordable if shared with a roommate, or with a full-time job. As always, search around when looking for apartments because many come with paid utilities, an in-room washer and dryer, which is always a convenient luxury when living in an apartment, or also come fully furnished so you do not have to worry about buying furniture if this is your first place. Also, many apartments close to the universities, while usually more than one bedroom, are extremely reasonable when shared with a roommate.
